Walking Meditation

Mindfulness Activity - Walking Meditation

  • Choose a path or trail that interests you; it could be a city park, by water, through the woods. Google maps is a beautiful resource in this circumstance. :)

  • Place hands in shashu mudra (gently closing fingers around hand in a sort of ball or “fist”)

  • Find a gentle pace that suits your body, notice how your arms are swaying beside you, notice how your feet come in contact with the earth

  • Notice what is around you, remember to breathe in and breathe out. What is the furthest away sound you can hear? Do you see every color of the rainbow in your surroundings?

  • Check in with your body, where are you noticing sensation or ease

  • Keep your walk to 15 - 20 minutes, the goal is to listen to yourself & the experience rather than break a sweat
